Dinner at Chuy’s
Yesterday afternoon I suddenly realized that if Joey and I did not connect with the Serrins/Springfield clan that very evening, then we would not get a chance to see them before we leave town. I called up Rachel and asked if we could meet them for dinner. Thank goodness they were free! We had a delicious meal at Chuy’s, and we had a great time visiting. The kids really liked this stand-up of the Beatles, and I managed to get a picture of each of them.
Rachel and my goddaughter taught me a song that Rachel wrote for the kids. The lyrics are: There was a lamb, his name was Earl, and what he liked, most in the world, is to say, “quack, quack, quack”. You can then repeat indefinitely substituting different animal noises at the end. Of course, it is completely hysterical to a two year old that you got the sound wrong, and she will tell you what animal really goes with the sound you made.
I pulled out my iPhone and made a video. The sound is not great because I am still getting used to the new iPhone, and I put my finger over the mic for part of the recording, but you will get the idea. My favorite part is at the end of the video when I suggested that she sing the song again, and she promptly said, “I want to hear the phone sing it.” In other words, she wanted to listen to the recording; you can’t get anything past this girl!
